Confused
Oh please help!

I have a mature (3+ years) 110 gal. mixed Malawi species + 3 Syno's + breeding brichardi (Tan)

I left the tank for a week trip. A friend fed the tank on one occasion. I arrived to an extremely foul odor throughout the entire house. I checked all of my aquariums and this is the culprit. All of my fish are accounted for. I have a wet dry, I have converted 10% of the bioballs to ceramic stars. I also have a fresh bag of Purigen and a bag of Carbon in the wetdry. I have since done water changes attempting to remove all waste compounds on the gravel. All water parameters are within reason. I have experienced Nitrate spikes from the bio balls and unattended to filtration clogs, this is not the case.

Any ideas on the culprit and or a fix!?!
Thanks,
Jeff

Did you try cleaning the hose to the filtration? I had bad odor coming from them one time. I had to soak them over nite in bleach water. It's all I can think of.
