The XML/RSS feed is also now available. You can use your favorite RSS news reader to monitor when new messages get posted to the forum.
For those of you using Mozilla's FireFox browser, this will work with the Live Bookmarks feature!
Essentially, you can either monitor the whole forum (displaying the 10 most recent posts): http://www.africancichlids.net/forums/rdf.php?mode=m&l=1 &n=10&basic=1
Or you can monitor an individual topic if you examine the URL of that topic and look for the topic ID. With that topic ID, you can adjust the above listed URL according to the help pages.
