Not a problem with the swimming, they do that sometimes. I'm not sure you should have added some Africans in with your oscars though. The 45 is already a bit full with 2 oscars in it. Also, the fish will most likely not get along in the long run.

Hey crazyfishlady,

Are you planning on upgrading your 55? I know a 55g is the absolute smallest tank you can get away with for 2 oscars, but that's keeping them in pretty small quarters.....

i just went to a 75 from my 55 for africans... went from my 40 long to 55 for my 1 lone oscar... then i got him a little bigger buddy from somebody that, didnt wnat him anymore , he was getting 2 big for her tank ... so being the animal lover i am Very Happy . i brought him home & sat him in another tank right beside my big oscar so they could get to know each other. Shocked did that for about 8 or 9 days...cause as u know they can be very violent...but all seemed well so i made the big step & they got to be in 1 tank finally & i sat home all day & babysat Very Happy then, but, it was a little hairy at first Mad he was pushing her & chasing her but he setteld down after about 2 hours ...he was with another oscar in his younger days i had 2 he was a very big & nice boy he would come to top of tank & i could reach in & pet him he would lay on his side .... i love o"s... now my other 2 i have now r like that also , very nice fish . like little puppies...luv em to death .........
