I'm not saying this is always the case but often these fish are either returns that the retailer either doesn't have much information about and/or a supplier talked the retailed into trying a few see if you can shift them or worse aren't pure fish but are actually the result of inter breeding.Please act with caution whenever you buy fish do your research first but espeically with tanks marked up as "mixed malawi" "mixed cichlids" "mixed mbuna" you wont regret it.
You can never have enough tanks.
