My electric blue sinks to the bottom of the tank every time he stops swimming. He is still eating but struggles to get to the food. What's wrong? What should I do.

I would isolate the fish in question. Put it in a hospital tank if you have one. Leave lights off and stop feeding until you know what this is. If it is bloat then you deffinetly want to stop feeding. Do you see a lump down near the anal fin, or it's belly enlarging (getting really round and wide).

Are there any other signs of the fish's symptoms?

There are no other signs of illness. He is not trying to gulp for air at the top.(I already have a air bubbler in the tank. The fish looks like normal other than the fact that it can't swim. It's really sad to see it try to swim to the top then come crashing back down onto whatever is under him. Water in the tank checks out good on everything. I isolated him from the rest of my fish and am currently treating him with Mardel Maracyn-Two. It was suggested to me that my fish may have a swim bladder problem possible caused by a bacterial infection. So we are hoping that this may help. What do you think?

I too believe it could be a swim bladder issue.

Just follow instructions on the box of antibods.

Keep water prestine and turn heat up to 81. Put a teaspoon of aquarium salt in the tank for every 5 gallons. This will help calm it down, and help with some pain if there is any.

Good luck
