i got a used 30 gallon tank that i'd like to set up - but i just found out that the guy used windex to clean out the inside!

i've disinfected it with hot water and about a cup of bleach. it sat for about 2 hours, then i rinsed it with hot water - a lot! i'll let it sit for a few days... maybe even outside in the sun.

do you think it will be safe for fish?

oh yes. It's safe now. Windex has alcohol in it which dries up fairly quickly. Just washing it out with vinegar or lemon juice would have been fine. No need to make it soak though. The important thing is to make sure you rinse it extremely well. If you can still smell chemical in it after rinsing, then it needs to be rinsed some more. NO smell is a good thing here. Good luck
