I would like to recant a comment made in some earlier post about the Metriaclima Estherae O, aka Red Zebra. I had previously posted sexing of the Red Zebra was done by the counting of the egg spots on the anal fin. 4 or more egg spots was most likely a male and 4 or less egg spots was most likely a female. NOT TRUE! Just today I received a book in the mail from a very good friend 'Malawi Cichlids in their natural habitat 3rd Edition by Ad Konings' as a gift that clearly shows the Red Zebra does not differentiate in sex according to egg spots. I do not know exactly how I picked that up but probably had something to do with the egg spots on my own Red Zebras and mixed info on the web. I apologize for stating false information.
