Non-commercial posts only, please. If you are a commercial establishment and would like to advertise with us, please send us an email. Affiliate links are considered commercial. You may, however, post a link to your website that may contain commercial content, as long as you do not explicitly point out that it is commercial in your post. In other words, don't say "Come check out our large selection of African Cichlids for sale!".
The reason for this is simple. The purpose of this trading post is to get hobbyists together to swap their fish and goods in a friendly, non-competitive environment. Nobody wants to have to compete with a big wholesaler just to sell off a clutch of Labidochromis caeruleus fry, and having 10 different people posting the same link to the same book on Amazon.com would be counterproductive as well. You got some spare fish? Post it here. You sell fish for a living? Please don't. Got a used book? Cool. Post it here. Selling books for someone else? Nope. Get it? Smile
Important: Do not use this or any other forum controlled by AfricanCichlids.net to post comments about any vendor, good or bad. If you bought fish from so-and-such-a-business, and you were REALLY mad about your experience, this is NOT the place to discuss it. Discuss it with the vendor... work out your differences, and if you simply must discuss it with someone else, you CAN post a neutral 'I bought fish from so-and-such-a-business. Email me for my comments.' This way, it's on YOUR head when so-and-such-a-business wants to go around suing people for slander. On that note, if they're going to be that way (and the trend is on), then we won't say good things about them either, will we?
If you are considering buying from a certain vendor, you should feel free to post a query message, such as, "I'm thinking of buying fish from so-and-such-a-business. Email me if you've had experience with them, please." DON'T reply to posts like this on the board. Use PM or email.
Get my point?
Any posts violating any of the above policies will be eaten by the moderator without explanation. If you're not sure if it's appropriate, you can always PM me first
