ok I've been around and heard of a few people with plywood tanks. Some say that, you should glue your joints others say silicone them some say dont worry at all. On thickness I've had people tell me it depends on the size of the tank but most say that its just best to stick with 3/4". On the type of plywood, all that I have talked too said they used just regular plywood and painted the inside with marine paint or epoxy, I was wondering what would happen if you used marine plywood if you would still have to coat it of just seal the joints? I's still a little confused on how to put the glass in? do you rabbit the plywod out and slide the glass in and silicone it? Do you just put a cove molding in as a frame? Do you have to have a frame on the taop as well or some sort of supports?
Any input or experinces anyone may have had will be greatly appreciated. Thanks again

The glass thing is easy to answer scoobs. You cut a 4" frame all the way around your viewing area and get a piece of glass cut to fit inside this. The you silicon it to the finished wood. It will look like an old fashion TV set sorta. They turn out really nice. Make sure you use 3/4" plywood and stager the screw size...2 1/2", 3". Marine epoxy will seasl the wood most excellently and you shouldn't need anything else. I don't know what marine plywood is but so long as it's storng I see no problems. I have a couple hundered disks to go through here and I'll try to find you some pictures. It's much easier to show you as tell you.

thanks for responding gas, I'd love to see some pictures I think that would relly help my out. One more question, can you make odd shaped tanks from ply? like corner tanks and such. Now to answer your question, living in cottage country you learn a little about boats, and alot of custom built wood boats either have a layer of or are totally constructed from marine plywood. You must know how normal ply will take on water and expand, well marine ply is made to repel water I believe its the glue thats used.
Thanks again.
