this is my first time on this forum so please bear with me. I am interested in starting a 55 gallon african cichlid aquarium but have many questions. i have read somewhere about ph, kh, etc. also something about lake salt. i thought african cichlids were fresh water fish? do i need salt? buffer? water conditioner? i'm really new to this, i never even had regular fish before so if you guys can help guide me i would really appreciate it. i have purchased a few things already, i have a 55 gallon tank and a eheim 2215 filter. is this good enough?
