Hi Folks Smile

All my fish life I have only ever used real aquatic plants. I didnt believe infake plants. i find though that i am always replanting them when they are pulled out or bitten in two.

Some days i just let themn float on the top because the fish love swimming through them for a while. Then I replant.

Are fake plants as good as real ones? Decor wise do they look crap?

Are there any essential nutrients that plants give off for the fish and water that they wouldnt get with fake plants? (obviouslly fake plants would give off zero anything) Wink

Which do you prefer?

WHat is your tank planted with?

I know my fish love eating the real plants, but will they try to eat the fake ones if i put fake in their tanks?

fake plants are good because the fish don't eat them. If you buy the good quality fake plants they look just as good as the real ones. I have two fake plants in my tank and several real ones. They all look great. My fish dig up the real plants all the time. I put rocks over them on the substrate but they dig under them and I end up replanting or letting them float.

My fake ones they never touch.

In my opinion they are just as good.

Real plants need different light, CO2, fertilizer, etc etc. It can be costly.

Fake plants you buy once, good quality and they last forever.

So I guess it just depends on the person.
