Four varients eh, wow. I got them both from the same wholesaler in Chicago. Two the first time that looked similar (one stayed at the LFS that picked it up for me), and then these two newer ones which both looked the same, and he has one with the bigger spots at the shop still. Unless he sold him already, they could very well be different locations? I don't know much about these guys, but I sure do like this newer one. He is very active for a Synodontis and doesn't mind coming out even being the only Syno in the tank. The other guy was like that too I guess, it is mainly the Lace cats that do all the hiding.

Yea I saw some full grown Angelicus at the wholesaler too, was tempted. They were only $27 each for around 6" fish. Probably a $60-80 fish at a LFS eh?
As for my other Synodontis I have 20 smaller Petricola at 1.5"-2.5"ish. I also have my two year'ish old Synodontis Lace cats which are pretty aggressive as well, at least the biggest two are. Its funny the finer spotted Angelicus in with the in the 75 stands up to the 4" Lace cat, as well as the 5-6" Sci. Fryeri male. That new Angelicus seemed to have fitted right into the 55 gallon with the Mbuna. I see him swimming around quite a bit even with the tank lights on, is this a juvinal thing? Both of the Angelicus are out and about quite abit actually, but the Lace cats hide almost all the time like you said about your Angelicus. I want to get some Multipunctatus eventually too maybe, I tried to talk my buddy out of his group of 6 or so juvinal Multis but he wanted to hold on to them. I also have a few Bristlenoses, two at around 2-2.5" in the 75 gallon and three smaller guys in a fry tank at around 1-1.5". Those baby bristlenoses sure clean up the algae well though.

Wow, how big is that dude? I guess King Coral had some of those in awhile ago, but I never got a chance to see them. Lots of big Multis and Petricola usually. Some of the Petricola were huge though, could they of been Polli?
